The year of 2018 ended up being a wonderful year for the Council of Irish counties - London. Thanks to the support received from the Emigrant Support Programme of the Department of Foreign Affairs, we were able to run several functions and events. In October 250 people turned up at the Irish centre, to witness a wonderful show "Ceiliúradh" excellently compered by Gerry Mulomby and comprised entirely of locally based talent. It went down very well with everyone. It was great to see so many young  people in the audience.

We followed that up two weeks later with a networking golf day at Mill Hill Golf Club. This was a very big success in that we got a few new members to join their respective county associations and we raised a large sum of money for the Siobhan McCann Cancer treatment fund. We followed this up the next day with the ladies Footballers of Fr Murphy's and Tir Chonaill Gaels and entered a team into the Siobhan's fundraising tournament. Showing that the C.I.C.A London is making big progress in associating themselves with other Irish groups, especially young people.

In December we followed all this up with "Feile an Nollaig" where we continued our policy of networking with other groups, when we invited members of Mind Yourself and The Harringay Irish Centre, together with our own members for a Christmas Lunch in The Kennedy Hall of the Irish Centre. Feith an Cheoil provided wonderful music and a few of the Fr Murphy's Ladies turned up to help serve the meals. That ended a year where positive moves had been made to expand the CICA to other organisations and connecting with our youth, whilst all the time keeping our culture very much alive.

We start 2019 now and watch out on here for a flurry of events soon to be announced. Coming up in  March we have our Dinner and Cabaret featuring a specially commissioned show "Laochra Aitiuil " (Local Heroes). We will be holding our St Patrick's morning Mass and our Full Irish Breakfast, with the help of our great friends from Clonakilty Black Pudding, and then onto the parade where the CICA will be as usual in a very prominent position. Much more about this later.

Déan 2019 sa bhliain iomlán de chultúr na hÉireann sa chathair seo.
